OceanVal runs on Linux and macOS with Python 3.10–3.13, and needs jupyter-book 2 or later. If you do not have conda installed, follow the conda installation guide first.
You can install the package using pip. However, this is not advised as setting up system dependencies can be tricky.
Install the released package:
conda install -c conda-forge oceanval
Then try the demo in the OceanVal app, which validates a CMIP6 model in a few minutes, or start with the Python quickstart.
